Free Animated Twitter Social Networking Icon

Today I reached a little milestone in the blogging community, 100 followers via Google Friend Connect (GFC). There are lots of views out there about the value & meaning of GFC followers. I absolutely do not think GFC is the end-all-be-all of blogging, but it still feels good to have reached this goal.

What feels even better is to see that 126 of you are following via RSS feed and to think back on all the meaningful comments & conversations I've had with you guys! To me, that is what makes blogging fun - the connections & friendships we've formed without even having met.

To say thank you, I've made a free little animated Twitter "Follow Me" icon. In my blog hopping the last few weeks I noticed a lot of newer bloggers have a rather generic Twitter button & thought a Twitter social networking icon might be a perfect little freebie.

Be sure to hover your mouse over the image to see what happens! And if you aren't following me on twitter, the icon below is linked :)

To get this icon on your sidebar:

➳  Go into your Blogger Dashboard
➳  Go into the Layout section
➳  Click "Add a Gadget"
➳  Choose "HTML/Java Script"
➳  Copy & Paste the text above into the widget
{Be sure to either drag the corner of the box all the way out, or select all with "ctrl+A"!}
➳  Towards the bottom look for this text: "http://twitter.com/YOUR-TWITTER-NAME-HERE"
➳  Replace YOUR-TWITTER-NAME-HERE with your Twitter name :)
{ie. "http://twitter.com/ktprice" }
➳  Save

Ta-da! If you use this icon, pretty please leave me a comment below. There is no need to credit me on your site, just let me know you are using it. If you share the icon, please link back to Priceless Adventure, or use these links:

Thanks again for following along on my Priceless Adventure. You guys make my day!

Journey Forward ∴ 9 - Quarter Check In

Journey Forward

Can you believe we are a quarter through twenty12 already? This weeks Journey Forward was to look back at the progress we have made towards our one word & goals.

  • Complete 4 or more blog designs per month.
Holla! I'm not quite up to four every month, but my average is right around four. Blog design can be tricky in that some projects take longer than others & carry over from month to month. Nevertheless, I'm quite proud of myself & these 15 designs!

January (3): Mrs. Alana's Miscellany, Lattes & LoveOf Our Parents
February (6): The Shelton Family, Reading, Eating & Dreaming, You are the Roots, Post Cards from TG, Creative Bug
March (3): Human Sparkler, Keep Your Sunnyside Up, C Squared W
April (3): Maggiano Takes Austin, Lovely, Flowers, Ribbons and Pearls

  • Find an online teaching job at a college or university.
Fail. I did have one fun job opportunity sent my way, but it didn't work out. I have a feeling this is going to be hard to accomplish before moving back to the states. The good news is that I have my portfolio & resume all ready to go when the time comes! {www.kathrynprice.info}

  • Make dates with my husband to have fun together at least twice a month.
At the beginning of the semester Chris and I were going out together almost every Saturday night. In March we had fun at his 4th Semester Banquet. But as the semester has started closing in (tests!) he just hasn't had the time for it. Hopefully in 5th semester there will be more time for these sorts of things without the stress of so many exams.

  • Read 12 books.
Yes! I'm at 4 books: Love Wins, Outlander, Sing You Home, Fifty Shades of Grey. Reading is one of my favorite things to do, so I think I will always find time for it. It helps me to relax.

  • Relax
Seriously, I feel like I'm working on this daily. Starting my own little design company has been a lot of hard work and a lot of long hours. That little list of 15 blogs up there represents my heart and soul for the past 4 months.

I feel like the Journey Forward challenge has helped me stay accountable during this time. Knowing that I have to write a post every week about how I am doing with relaxing has really helped me to stay in check. I get so easily lost in my computer & design; two hours can feel like twenty minutes for me. Living with a relaxed attitude is a work in progress for me.

What about you? Do you want to join in on the Journey Forward challenge? It's not too late!

Twelve by 2012

Did you know I am a multi-tasker at heart? I've always got at least 12 things going on in my life at the same time. School, design, blogging, RSO (Ross Spouses Organization - I'm president this semester), and the list goes on.

I found this Twelve by 2012: a project of goals challenge via Kate of The Small Things Blog and was immediately drawn to it. Even though I'm good at doing a ton of things at once, what I'm not so good at is making goals relating to the projects I start.

The Twelve by 2012 challenge is perfect for me because the calendar of my life is governed mostly by my husband's med-school semesters. We are almost half-way through this semester already and there are definitely things I'd like to finish up before the end of the semester and the end of the year. It was quite easy to find 12 things I'd like to wrap up by year's end.

My Twelve by 2012:

1- finish up my 10 free makeovers at Priceless Design
2- complete the Caribbean Cooking challenge from Spouses Kitchen (more to come..)
3- plan something fun for my husband's 30th birthday
4- go to Rainbow Yoga at least once a week
5- organize my messy closet
6- take a blog designers course from BDN
7-  read the last 5 books in my Goodreads 2011 Reading Challenge
8- get A's in both my classes this semester
9- complete in my masters capstone project: Globablog
10- get Priceless Design ready for it's grand opening
11- organize a Christmas party
12- walk at my graduation
